"Marco Variation
Blade Runner Blaster
with Electronics
$500 US
One of the most visually extraordinary films ever produced, Blade Runner
immerses the audience in a compellingly plausible future. From the flaming
industrial landscape, to the extraordinary flying cars, director
Ridley Scott's masterpiece is timeless in its scope and stunning its gritty
beauty.
It is 2019 in Los Angles, and former Blade Runner Rick Deckard (Harrison
Ford) is called back to quietly take care of what could easily become
an unpleasant embarrassment for the city: Four replicants (synthetic humans
banned from use on the planet) have illegally returned to earth from an
off-world colony. Deckard's job is to quickly retire these errant androids
before their presence becomes public knowledge.
One problem seriously dogs the detective: Replicants are virtually indistinguishable
from humans. And just maybe, even Deckard himself is not exactly who he
thinks he is...
Background
Few movie props have stimulated the sort of interest and passion that
the Blade Runner blaster has inspired. In fact, over the years, many variations
and interpretations of the blaster have been effected by the large and
eclectic Blade Runner fan base.
One of the first reproductions ever created was the Marco blaster. Consequently,
in the pantheon of Blade Runner blasters, the Marco variations represent
some of the first steps in the evolutionary progression that led to the
more accurate models available today.
Nonetheless, like the first and legendary Star Trek props created by Brad
Nelson, the Marco Blade Runner blaster is a significant and important
variation of the piece. Therefore, for the collector who is looking to
compile a representative grouping of Blade Runner blasters, the Marco
unit is a required acquisition. Unfortunately, due to its rarity, the
Marco is an elusive catch--except now.Description
You are bidding on an original Marco Blade Runner blaster with lights
and sound.
By activating the switch on the upper side of the grip, four red magazine
LEDs illuminate. Pressing on the button at the rear of the upper receiver
launches a loud explosive sound, reminiscent of the one heard when Deckard
fires at Roy Batty in J. S. Sebastian's apartment.
The prop is composed of painted resin, is relatively hefty, and employs
a 9-volt battery to power its impressive light and sound effects."
